A scheme for a £40m casino, hotel and shopping centre in Buckinghamshire is to go ahead on the casting vote of a committee chairman, despite opposition.

The project will be built by the owner of Xscape at Milton Keynes and will be alongside its entertainment centre creating 200 new jobs, developers said.

Local residents mounted a campaign to prevent the development and are unhappy over the decision of the planners.

The planning committee chairman’s casting vote sealed approval.
